Guam quarters from the United States are available in unofficial gold-plated versions. Both of the mints that produce the 2009 Guam quarter, Philadelphia and Denver, have had their coins plated in gold.
Although these gold-plated Guam quarters are not as numerous as other collectible coins, such as the silver Guam proof coins, they can be a nice addition to a collection of state quarters. Some gold-plated coins have extra touches, such as hologram effects on the island outline.
