The Northwest Territories is a vast area of northern Canada that has seen a few coins issued in its honor to commemorate various subjects. There was a one-hundred year anniversary coin set made for collectors in 1970, and the Northwest Territories was included in a 1992 set that honored each of Canada’s provinces and territories.
The Northwest Territories shares borders with both Nunavut and Yukon, the other two Canadian territories, as well as the southern provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
