British Columbia, in far western Canada, has been in existence since 1858 and a province of Canada since 1871. There have been several special British Columbia coins issued, including silver dollar coins in 1958 and 1971.
Of note to many collectors are the special coins issued for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
