Australia‘s first national stamps were the kangaroo stamps of 1913, which pointedly did notnclude a royal British monarch; but soon, Britain-friendly member of the new Australian government issued stamps featuring a likeness of King George V. Today, these stamps are highly collectible in all their various forms.
George V’s reign lasted from 1910 (before Australian postage stamps were ever issued) until 1936. During this time, there were a large number of different denominations (in the old imperial currency system) and dye colors of King George V stamps.
Check the current selection of Australia’s King George V postage stamps, covers, and other philately collectibles.
