Mega Ministore FAQ
Mega Ministore (MMS) is a site that brings together people with interests in various collectibles, crafts, and other unique products. In each section we aim to be a genuinely useful source of information and discussion as well as listing items for sale to interested buyers.
What types of things do you feature?
Anything collectible, interesting, or popular. Some of our most popular categories are collectible coins and stamps, vintage 8-track tapes, classic 1980s video games, original art, and more. We try to have a good balance of interesting, unique things and popular, more commercial products. However, there is no point in creating yet another site full of the usual electronics and CDs, so we try to fill in the gaps with things that interest us and our friends. And hopefully, you!
What's with the sales listings?
We have agreements with outside vendors such as eBay and Amazon that allow us to scan their third-party seller listings and list items relevant to a given MMS category. The strength of such sites is that sellers from all over the world can list their items and the selection can be huge. We also use custom software to combine different items from different categories, giving MMS shoppers a customized, focused set of things for sale.
For example, we split our 8-track tapes section up into artists and other subcategories, so you can quickly get a list of, for example, Beatles 8-track tapes, or Christmas 8-track tapes, neither of which has an actual dedicated category on (in this case) eBay.
Furthermore, we list items from sellers located around the globe, not just the United States. This international search makes it easier to find special items you're looking for and gives you a much bigger range of stuff.
Do you list original stuff for sale?
No — at this time we only list items for sale from outside vendors via our partner sites. In the near future we will add a feature so MMS users can list their own items for sale for free. We can not vouch for the sellers whose stuff we list, and any problems must be taken up with the main vendor site in question.
Why should I register?
You don't have to register to use Mega Ministore — shopping and reading is free. If you want to join the discussions, though, registering is free (it just requires a valid email address) and allows you to take advantage of a few extra features on the site, for example not having to fill in extra fields when leaving comments or feedback.
