Democrat fight! Nancy Pelosi fighting with Sheila Jackson Lee over Michael Jackson resolution

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is officially at odds with fellow Democrat Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas (no relation to Python Lee Jackson). Jackson is a big fan of recently deceased Michael Jackson, and wants the House of Representatives to pass a resolution honoring the singer.

Pelosi finally responded in a statement, saying that it not "necessary" to pass such a resolution, citing the pointless division it would create between those MJ fans in Congress who support it and those who have castigated Jackson's lifestyle.

This, of course, isn't over, and the sides will continue to release statements supporting their cause. It must be pointed out that this resolution won't actually have any effect, being purely symbolic, and will not change what anyone thinks of Michael, his music, or his life. It's just extraneous noise from lawmakers who love bitching at each other in the press.
